This is a significant week in terms of federal legislation impacting SWANA communities. Please take action below!
In the U.S. Senate, our Senators will be taking a vote on Senator Bernie Sanders Joint Resolutions of Disapproval (JRD) to block $20 billion in offensive arms sales to Israel. This is a historic vote and will likely be the last chance U.S. Senators have to go on the record on the Israeli government’s human rights abuses against Palestinians for at least the next couple of years. Please sign this petition ASAP to urge your senator to support Sanders’ JRD.
In the House of Representatives, House Republicans are set to ram a bill through Congress this week that will empower the U.S. Treasury to revoke a non-profit’s tax-exempt status if it is identified as a “terrorist supporting organization” in an attempt to target organizations that support Palestine and Palestinian human rights. Please send a letter to your representatives ASAP to protect free speech and civil society.
